The institute was established in August of 2002, and initially was named as Institute of Power Mechanical Engineering.

The institute was approved to rename as ‘Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering’ in August, 2004.

With the authorization of The Ministry of Education to take in Doctoral student in 1995, the institute had recruited 5 doctoral academic students at the first year.

Our institute combines the Departments of Mechanical Design Engineering, Power Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Vehicle Engineering and other relative departments for the purpose of generating a more effective integration of school teachers with the complete infrastructures.

Currently the institute is offering Postgraduate program, In-service Master program and Master-level Industrial RD program.
